CereCare - Adaptive Clothing
Designing clothing for children with cognitive and motor impairment.
SUMMARY
For children with Cerebral Palsy, dressing in standard-fit clothing is a frustrating, time consuming experience. In this project, I led a team to research, design and prototype 4 articles of clothing that addressed their unique needs, and release an open source adaptive clothing guide for future development.
CERECARE WELLNESS CENTER PROVIDES ESSENTIAL SERVICES
CereCare’s mission is to rehabilitate children and prepare them for unassisted adult life. Aides provide around the clock care to nearly twenty boys and girls aged 6-12 with Cerebral Palsy in 1-1 or 1-2 aide-child ratios depending on the severity of each child’s cognitive and motor impairment. This project in assistive technology, in service of CereCare, lasted two months.
