SUMMARY

Aya Healthcare is the largest healthcare staffing agency in the country, placing 50,000 travel nurses in 2023 and grossing over $12 billion. Software has enabled efficient management of this large workforce, but rapid growth has led to a ripe opportunity to take Aya’s digital experiences to the next level.

REFRESHING CLIENT JOB REQUIREMENTS

At the core of everything Aya does are ‘Unit Descriptions’ - forms that capture job requirements and allow candidates to be placed in appropriate jobs. I led the redesign of this experience from the ground up, changing the UI and - crucially - the underlying data model. I managed development of this multi-year, multi-team effort.

RESULTS

  • Migrated critical data model with while temporarily maintaining old systems without data loss

  • Improved client experience filling out job requirements and viewing spend reports

  • Delivered over $3 million per year of value
